August supports legal research grounded in Mexican law. For organizations configured with Mexico jurisdiction, August grounds legal analysis, drafting, and advice in Mexican law by default, writes output in formal Mexican Spanish using the technical terminology of Mexican practice, and restricts its web research for Mexican legal questions to official government sources rather than the open web.

This behavior applies when your organization is tagged with jurisdiction = MX. If your organization is not configured for Mexico jurisdiction, your research queries follow standard routing.

What Changes for Mexico Organizations

  • Mexican law by default. Ambiguous legal-research queries are grounded in Mexican statutes, regulations, and jurisprudence — Código Civil Federal, Código de Comercio, Ley General de Sociedades Mercantiles, Ley Federal del Trabajo, and SCJN tesis and jurisprudencia.

  • Formal Mexican Spanish output. Responses and drafted documents use formal address (usted), formal verb forms, and native Mexican legal formulations, and drafted documents follow the structure a Mexican lawyer would use for that instrument.

How Case-Law Lookups Work

August researches tesis and jurisprudencia through the Semanario Judicial de la Federación and the SCJN's published rulings. Full sentencias in the federal judiciary's interactive judgment-search application are not directly searchable.

When August cites a tesis or registro digital, verify the full text in the SJF before relying on it in a filing. August flags when its findings come from digests or summaries rather than full texts. See How August Handles Sources and Citations.
