Manage Your Sidebar Projects
The project sidebar shows your most relevant projects for quick access. Instead of displaying every project you have access to, the sidebar shows a curated working set: your Personal project, followed by pinned projects, then up to five recently used projects.
How Projects Appear in the Sidebar
The sidebar organizes projects in a specific order:
Personal project — Always appears first. This is your default workspace for personal work.
Pinned projects — Projects you've explicitly pinned appear next, ordered by when you pinned them (most recently pinned first).
Recently used projects — Up to five additional projects based on your recent activity, ordered by most recent use.
Hidden projects don't count toward the five-project limit. If you hide a project that was in your recent list, the next most recent project automatically appears in the sidebar.
Pin the projects you work on regularly to keep them visible regardless of recent activity. Pinned projects always appear above unpinned projects in the sidebar.
Pin a Project to the Sidebar
Pinning keeps a project visible in the sidebar even when you haven't used it recently. Pin projects that represent ongoing matters or clients you need quick access to.
From the Sidebar
Find the project in your sidebar.
Click the ⋯ menu next to the project name.
Select Pin to Sidebar.
The project moves into the pinned section at the top of your project list.
From the Projects Page
You can also pin projects from the Projects page, which shows all your accessible projects in one view:
Navigate to the Projects page.
Find the project you want to pin.
Click the ⋯ menu on the project card or table row.
Select Pin to Sidebar.
Unpin a Project
Unpinning removes a project from your pinned section. The project remains in your accessible projects and will appear in your recent list if you've used it recently.
From the Sidebar
Find the pinned project in your sidebar.
Click the ⋯ menu next to the project name.
Select Unpin from Sidebar.
From the Projects Page
Navigate to the Projects page.
Find the pinned project.
Click the ⋯ menu on the project card or table row.
Select Unpin from Sidebar.
How Recency Works
Your recently used projects update automatically based on activity within each project. A project moves to the top of your recent list when you:
Create or rename a chat
Send chat messages
Create, rename, or move folders
Upload or move files
Create or edit a tabular view
Create or edit a workflow
Create or edit a playbook
The sidebar refreshes within about 30 seconds after activity, or immediately when you navigate to a new page.
Hidden Projects and Pinning
Hidden projects can still be pinned. When you pin a hidden project, it becomes visible again in your sidebar.
To restore a hidden project using pinning:
Go to the Projects page to see all your projects, including hidden ones.
Find the hidden project you want to restore.
Click the ⋯ menu.
Select Pin to Sidebar.
The project appears in your pinned section and is no longer hidden.
When Projects Change Visibility
Your sidebar project list adjusts automatically as you work:
After inactivity: Projects you haven't used recently may drop out of the five-project recent list, but they remain accessible from the Projects page.
After pinning: Pinned projects stay visible regardless of activity.
After hiding: Hidden projects don't occupy a slot in the recent list. The next most recent project fills the slot.
After creating a new project: New projects appear at the top of your recent list immediately.
All projects remain accessible: The sidebar shows your working set of projects for quick access. To see every project you have access to, including hidden ones, go to the Projects page.
