Manage Your Organization from the Admin Page
Organization admins use the Admin page to see how the firm uses August, manage members, choose which integrations members can connect, and post announcements. Open it from Admin at the bottom of the sidebar. The page has five tabs: Metrics, Projects, Users, Features, and Announcements.
Who can open the Admin page
Only members with the Admin role in your firm's August organization see the Admin link. Everyone else has the Member role and doesn't see it. Every tab shows and changes data for your own organization only.
An existing admin can make another member an admin from the Users tab. If nobody at your firm has the Admin role yet, contact us to set one up.
Review usage in Metrics and Projects
Metrics summarizes activity across your organization for the date range you pick: active users, total queries, queries per day, and which features people use, such as Auto and Manual chats, the Word add-in, Tabular Review, Playbooks, and Agents.
Projects lists your organization's projects with their activity for a date range. Open a project to see its activity over time.
Manage members in Users
The Users tab lists everyone in your organization with their role and status. Use Search users to find someone, and click Export to download the list as an Excel file.
Change a role: pick Admin or Member in the Role column. Admins get the Admin page and can manage firm templates.
Deactivate a member: click Deactivate, then confirm with Deactivate User. They can no longer sign in to August.
Restore access: click Activate next to a deactivated member.
You can't add new members from the Admin page. To add people to your organization, contact us.
Choose available integrations in Features
The Features tab controls which integrations members of your organization can connect and use. Each one is enabled by default:
Outlook
SharePoint + OneDrive
Google Drive
Dropbox
Turn an integration's switch off to hide it from everyone in your organization. It disappears from the Integrations tab in each member's profile, the chat composer's Integrations menu, and the Import menu on folders pages.
Lawmatics, Clio, iManage, and NetDocuments aren't on the Features tab. We turn those on for each firm; contact us to enable one.
Post announcements
Announcements let you tell everyone in your organization about a new playbook, a training session, or a change in process. Click New Announcement on the Announcements tab and fill in:
Title, Preview Text, and Description.
Image: a PNG or JPEG under 2 MB.
Call to Action (optional): a button label and the link it opens. Fill in both or neither.
Platforms: Platform shows the announcement in the web app sidebar, and Word add-in shows it as a popup when the add-in opens.
Turn on Alert to open the announcement automatically in the web app. Turn on Hidden to take an announcement down without deleting it, and use Sort Order to control where it appears among your other announcements.
Manage firm templates
Admins also manage the Word and PowerPoint templates August uses when it creates documents for your firm. Open your account menu, choose My profile, and select Templates. Under Manage firm templates, click Upload firm templates to add DOCX or PPTX files, then describe each one so August knows when to use it. See Personalization for how members choose when August uses each template.
